Important Update Regarding Your USCG Medical Exam!
The U.S. Coast Guard has rolled out a new digital process for processing your medical certificate in September 2026 with a mandatory new first step before you come to Broward Medical & Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic for your USCG Medical Exam (CG-719K).
NEW PROCESS REQUIREMENT:
You must initiate and complete your Medical Certificate Application sections online in the Navita™ Mariner Portal at https://navita.uscg.mil/s/ PRIOR to visiting our clinic.
How to prepare for your appointment with us:
- Go Online: Log into the NAVITA Mariner Portal using your Login.gov credentials.
- Start Your Application: Begin a new Medical Certificate application (Select CG-719K) and fill out your required personal and medical history sections online.
- Download, Print & Bring CG-719K: Print the pre-populated form generated by the system and bring it with you to Broward Medical & Urgent Care, Inc. (Note: If you do not have a printer, you can download it to your computer and email it to us at bmurgentcare@gmail.com and we will print it for you but please confirm that we have received it before you come to the office.)
- The Exam: Our experienced doctors and medical professionals will complete the physical exam, sign off on the required fields, and provide you with the finished paperwork.
- Final Submission: Return to the Navita™ portal to upload your signed exam packet and submit it directly to the National Maritime Center.

We are conveniently located 5 minutes from Port Everglades, Las Olas and the Fort Lauderdale Airport and provide USCG medical exams Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and MRO Certified Drug Screens Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.

What to Expect?
With over 15 years of experience performing thousands of USCG/Merchant Marine Medical Exams, the Medical Professionals at Broward Medical & Urgent Care are experts at the process. The medical exam is a painless and non-invasive comprehensive review of your health and typically takes 30-45 minutes.
As part of the of the medical evaluation, a drug test is often required. The drug test for the USCG can only be performed by a Certified Medical Review Officer at an approved facility using Federal Chain of Custody Forms and a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration approved laboratory.
How Long to Receive the Results?
The completed forms for the physical are generally available the same day where there are no complications. The results of the drug test are generally available in 2 business days after 3pm where there are no unforeseen delays.
